Modern Concert Pedal Harp

In the first half of the 18th century, a pedal harp was invented, whose strings could be overhauled by pedals (at first five). The still-used sedemipedal harp was patented in 1810 by a French toolmaker Sébastienem Érardem.

The modern seven-handed harp has 47 strings that are diatomically tuned in the city. There are seven pedals coupled to the pulls in the column cavity with a rotating mechanism in the neck; all pedestals of the same name are always one pedal (occasionally the optional eight pedal). The pedals have three positions, with the strings not changing at the top. By simply pressing the pedal, the string sound is increased by a halftone (eg from ces to c), by double tapping by two semitones (eg from ces to cis).

All strings are colored red for better orientation, all strings are blue.

The table below shows all the possible positions of the pedals on the harp, the left foot controls the 1st, 2nd and 3rd pedals, the right foot controls the 4th to 7th pedal. Two pedals in the 1st position are shown in the photo.
